Organic certified vine leaves in brine, supplied via certified organic producer partners. Certification scope covers the entire growing system rather than the final residue: soil management, input list, field separation from conventional neighbours, harvest equipment cleanliness, and processing facility segregation. EU Organic and USDA NOP both available on request; specify the standard your destination requires before quoting.

When buyers pick organic

Organic is the right answer for:

  • Natural / organic retail channels where the certified label is the minimum bar
  • Private-label programmes for organic retail brands
  • Premium ready-meal brands positioned in the certified-organic shelf segment
  • Foodservice operators serving organic-only menus
  • Diaspora retail in markets where organic positioning commands a clear price premium

For programmes that do not require organic certification, pesticide-free or conventional is the more cost-efficient choice.

What the certification audits

Annual third-party inspection covers:

  • The vineyard producer (soil, input list, neighbour separation, harvest practice)
  • The packing and processing facility (segregation, cleaning, documentation)
  • Document-chain tracking from harvest lot to shipment lot
  • Cross-verification by the certifying body

The audit chain is what buyers pay for. Without the audit chain, "organic" is a claim; with it, "organic" is a contractual specification.

EU Organic versus USDA NOP

The two main organic standards overlap but are not always cross-recognised. Equivalence agreements between USDA NOP and EU Organic exist under specific conditions but lapse and re-negotiate; both can ship under a single audit programme in many cases, but only when the equivalence agreement covers the product line. Specify which standard your retail destination requires - or both, on contract.

The grade-ladder post covers the cost and lead-time premium in more detail.

Grade specification

Quality parameters per batch are documented on the spec sheet on this page. Organic specifications differ slightly from conventional in tolerated brown-leaf and branch-stem ratios; the spec is calibrated to the audit chain's reality rather than to a tighter cosmetic standard. Five regional varieties are available on organic, subject to certified-vineyard availability per harvest year.

Lead time, MOQ, and incoterms

Organic programmes need additional time for the certifying-body document chain. Syrian or Xinjiang origin, single-origin requirements, and single-cooperative specifications can add routing or consolidation time. MOQ depends on packaging, destination, certification scope, and whether the order is a trial shipment or a volume programme.

For repeat organic buyers, contract programmes with declared 12-month volume secure harvest allocation when certified yields are tight.

Documentation pack

Every shipment includes the conventional document pack plus EU Organic certification (or USDA NOP, or both), the organic certifying body audit reference, and the lot-level transaction certificate. ISO 9001, ISO 22000, ISO 14001 certificate scans on request; Halal-suitable and Kosher-suitable declarations on request.
