High-altitude Thompson Seedless from the Turpan basin

Xinjiang's Turpan basin is the largest Thompson Seedless growing region in China and one of the largest in the world. Vineyards sit on the basin floor and surrounding terraces; the extreme continental climate - hot dry days, cool nights, high solar load - produces a leaf that is crisper and larger than its Aegean Sultana counterpart, with strong structural integrity through processing.

For buyers running container-load programs into Asian retail or food-manufacturing channels, the Xinjiang origin offers volume scale and competitive landed cost for the region. For European buyers, Türkiye-origin programs are usually faster and cheaper after freight; Xinjiang Thompson is most relevant for Asia-Pacific destinations.

Harvest window and brining

Harvest runs June through July, lagging Mediterranean origins due to the higher latitude and altitude. Brining is conducted at producer facilities under FSSC 22000-aligned protocols; we audit at the consolidation point before container loading.

Frequently asked questions

Why source from Xinjiang at all?

For buyers servicing Asia-Pacific consumer markets, Xinjiang Thompson is closer geographically, offers volume scale, and competitive landed cost. For European buyers, Türkiye programs are typically faster and more economical.

What about origin documentation?

Full origin documentation, Certificate of Origin, and Certificate of Analysis ship with each container. Specify your importing-country requirements upfront and we structure the documentation accordingly.

Is Xinjiang Thompson different from Turkish Sultana?

Genetically the same cultivar (Thompson Seedless / Sultana). The leaf character is influenced by terroir: Xinjiang gives a larger, crisper leaf; Aegean Türkiye gives a tenderer, mid-sized leaf. End-product performance depends on your recipe and processing equipment.

What is the typical lead time?

28-42 days for Conventional, longer for Pesticide-Free or Organic. Sea-freight from Shanghai or Tianjin to most destinations adds 20-35 days depending on port.
