Organic Vine Leaves: Pure Mediterranean Taste | By Tuna Sourcing
What organic means in vine leaves
Organic certified vine leaves are not simply conventional leaves with a cleaner label. The certification scope covers the growing system, input list, producer records, processing segregation, and transaction documents that connect the lot to the certified producer.
Producer-level certification
For vine leaves, organic certification normally sits with the vineyard and pack-house. A trade supplier sources from certified producer partners and ships the organic transaction documents with the lot.
Buyer planning
Organic programmes need earlier planning than conventional programmes because certified supply is narrower and document flow is stricter. Buyers should state whether they need EU Organic, USDA NOP, or both before requesting a quote.
Specification still matters
Organic certification does not replace product specification. Whole-leaf ratio, size, colour, brine, packaging, and destination documents still need to be agreed. Certification tells the buyer how the product was produced; the spec tells the buyer how it will perform.
